The jury concluded that Gila and Mikhail Germanichesky did not deserve leniency
he Chkalovsky District Court announced the verdict to Gila and Mikhail Germansky. The couple from Yekaterinburg were under investigation for almost three years after the death of their 6-year-old adopted son Nikita. The boy died in July 2018 from a head injury, but the guardians said that “the child slipped in the bathroom.” In addition, the Germans assured that Nikita often inflicted injuries on himself, in particular, allegedly hitting his head on the floor .
“We were warned that children are difficult and need special supervision and training,” says Mikhail German. – And getting the same care in our country is a whole adventure. For a year we went to foster-parents school. Then they collected information about the existing children, that we have an apartment and conditions for upbringing, – said Mikhail German.
But the investigation concluded that the beatings received by the boy were the result of regular bullying. The prosecutor’s office believes that Gila and Mikhail had personal dislike for Nikita due to disobedience .
Note that until that day, Angelina’s adopted daughter and Nikita’s 4-year-old brother, Dima, also lived in the family. After the tragedy, they were returned to orphanages.
- The accused, knowing that the boy was in a helpless state and unable to resist, jointly inflicted many blows on the head, neck, trunk and limbs with their hands, feet and hard objects. Many wounds and abrasions were left on the child’s body from the actions of the guardians, and he also received a closed craniocerebral injury, complicated by cerebral edema, which caused the boy’s death on the same night, the oversight department notes.
By the way, last year Gila Germanskaya was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in a general regime colony. However, the regional court acquitted the woman on three out of four articles with the right to rehabilitation . Mikhail Germany also denied guilt, but was not previously a defendant.
- In the case, forensic medical examinations were carried out (including a commission forensic medical examination carried out in another constituent entity of the Russian Federation), molecular genetic, biological and psychological and psychiatric forensic examinations, – noted in the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Sverdlovsk region.
The Germans came to court with their belongings, obviously preparing for a guilty verdict. They flatly refused to communicate with the press, but two years ago they were happy to give interviews.

The court ruled to appoint Gila German 9 years, Mikhail German 9 years and 10 months. Both will serve their sentences in a general regime colony.
